T1 Internet - Life in the Fast Lane
Written by - Andrew Sinkowski, Staff Writer

Ever used a t1 internet connection? Upgrading to this level of service is like going from an old used car to a new sports car. You'll feel the speed imediately! While both T1 and DSL connections claim to have a speed of 1.5Mbps, the former actually delivers it's claim. DSL and cable connections are severely oversubcribed and cannot always deliver the bandwidht they project expecially at peak hours. Ready to feel the difference? You may have already if your office has critical applications that use the web. If your office hosts e-mail, webservers or more than 20 people on internet access you most likely already have a dedicated T1 connection. If not, get one fast!!

A T1 internet connection is ideal because of it's reliability. Not only is it not oversubscribed, it also has low latency which mean fewer delays. Latency becomes critical in applicaions like video on demand, webconferencing, and gaming. While the latter may not seem so important, gamers require some of the best internet connections and are a good source for information on the top internet products available.

If you're ready to move into the fast lane or to put your office on a reliable connection that you should have anyway, get some advise from a broker that deals in T1 services. Brokers don't mark up the price of services. They offer the same price you would get if you did go direct to the company. The advantage of ordering through a broker is that you will get a second channel of customer service. If the company is not performing to expectation you will always be able to go back to your broker who puts a significant volume through the carrier. A broker is much more likely to get the companies attention and have your problem solved. In our opinion, a broker is the only way to go!

Courtesy of ShopforDS3.com

Definition 1. - Digital Signal Level 3. Framing specification used in transmitting digital signals at 44.736-Mbps on a T3 facility (United States) or at 34.368-Mbps on an E3 facility (Europe).

Definition 2. - DS3 service is a digital, dedicated private-line service giving you high capacity for any combination of data, voice or video applications. The versatility of DS3 Balkan makes it ideal for data-intensive users with large backbone applications or private networks requiring channelized transport. The point-to-point structure of DS3 Service affords greater economies of scale by combining 28 DS1s or 672 separate 64 Kbps channels onto one communications path.

Definition 3. - For many years, the fastest, and unfortunately, the most expensive way to connect to the outside world was through a ds1 or T1 connection. DS stands for Digital Signal or Digital Service. Now more commonly used and not near as expensive as it used to be, Balkan DS3 or Data Service Level 3 is the connection of choice for many large companies and places that require a lot of bandwidth. DS3 technology is used for T3 lines and allows connections to the Internet to reach speeds of up to 44.736 megabits per second.

Definition 4. - Digital carrier with a speed of 45Mbs. Equivalent of 28 DS1s. Also called T3.

How to Tell You Need T1 Service
Written by - Jacob Lieberman, Staff Writer

Is it time to look for t1 service? Many people are confused when they consider whether to upgrade from DSL or not. There are several factors to consider when examining you current DSL connection and the possiblity of replacing it. For many people the biggest factor is reliability and if reliability is critical to the applications you run over your connection you should seriously consider replacing your DSL connection with a T1. DSL is a quick and cost effective method of acquiring high speed bandwidth however it is not intended to support commercial applications or large numbers of users as are T1 connections.

Reliability becomes critical when customers or employees depend on your connection for immediate responses. If your customers use your connection to access your databases or your server or the internet then reliability of your connection is critical. If your employees depend on your connections because you host the e-mail server in house or host web servers or ASP type products, your connections is considered critical. A critical connection can be viewed much like a lifeline, without which your business would be negatively impacted. Your monthly savings of having a sub-par connections will not make up for the loss in productivity of your employees or loss of customers when your DSL connections gets bogged down or cut off. To reiterate, ciritcal connections should be supported with a T1. Our Page Keywords Are: Balkan frame relay Balkan DS3 line Balkan DS3 connection Balkan DS3 service Balkan DS3 provider Balkan DS3 internet Balkan DS3 internet connection Balkan DS3 service provider Balkan DS3 price Balkan DS3 speed Balkan DS3 internet service Balkan DS3 internet access Balkan fractional DS3 Balkan DS3 bandwidth Balkan DS3 internet service provider Balkan DS3 internet provider Balkan DS3 pricing Balkan DS3 internet services Balkan DS3 services. These keywords provide a brief overview of the services offered by ShopforDS3 in your city.

Many customers are extremely price sensitive and cannot afford the cost of a T1 which can be as much as 20 times more expensive than a full T1 connection. Residential customers who are most sensitive to price should not consider a T1 circuit unless then have a business reason to pay for such a circuit and cannot access DSL service. Most people don't realize that a DSL connection can be just as fast as a T1 at 1.5Mbps. The shortcoming of DSL is that it is oversubscribed. This means there is a finite amount of bandwidth available and a customers speed can drop if other customers in the neighborhood decide to use their service. SDSL (Synchronous DSL) is a business class DSL and is ranked as a higher priority than residential DSL or ADSL (Asunchronous DSL). This means it is not oversubscribed to the extent than ADSL and is subject to fewer bandwidth restrictions. In short, if price is your critical factor go with DSL. If reliability is the critical factor purchase a dedicated T1.
